Notes on Color: Teal

NOTES

ON

COLOR

Inspired by the sparkling, famous Caribbean-blue waters of Lake Tahoe’s Sand Harbor, teal brings a carefree, vacation state of mind. It is a bold yet versatile take on blue, which we consider a neutral. Fresh, youthful, and playful, teal adds just the right splash of energy to make everything feel a little more vibrant.

Teal Kitchen in the Meadows

A few years ago we completed a teal kitchen that shows just how versatile this color can be. Used across the cabinetry, it reads as soft and neutral while still adding personality. Inspired by the meadow views outside, the palette pairs beautifully with serene quartzite and natural light, creating a calm, indoor-outdoor feel. An oversized island makes the space perfect for relaxed cooking, dining, and gathering.

Teal in Interiors

We love using teal as a playful pop in a space, whether it’s a mohair accent chair or a statement kitchen island. It brings a youthful, vibrant energy that instantly livens up a room. Because it’s such a powerful color, we like to balance it with soft neutrals, warm greys, and earthy greens like celery or mink.
