Life in Tahoe: March
In Tahoe it seems like we skipped spring and went straight from winter to summer! It doesn’t seem we will be getting a miracle March at this point. The beginning of the month started out with melting snow after a large storm and now that we are nearing April, the temps are rising and we’ve already enjoyed a few beach days. Having a toddler this is a bit of a relief as it’s such a joy to be able to spend longer periods of time outside. And of course our favorite place to be is the beach, enjoying the sun and splashing around in the water!
Belgian Mill Visit
We had one of our favorite Belgium mills visit us this month all the way from outside Ghent. I’ve visited this mill a few times in Belgium, but it was such a pleasure to welcome them here in Lake Tahoe. We prepared freshly baked croissants and berries to enjoy while we reviewed their newest textiles. It’s been a bit under the radar, but we are starting to create our own textile line to use with clients. We are focusing on natural fibers, something that we are extremely passionate about, with an emphasis on wool and linen. Right now we are working with about five mills, all of whom are family run operations creating the creme de la creme in terms of product and quality. This mill in particular is a fourth generation owned mill and is known for their luxurious linen upholstery fabrics. Stay tuned as we share more about this journey!
Bay Area Sourcing Trip + Photoshoot
This month we headed down to the Bay Area for a week to accomplish some fun work! The main focus was photographing our capture furniture collection with Suzanna Scott, our beloved collaborator and interiors photographer. We got lucky and found an incredible light studio in Sausalito that we booked to shoot the collection. We opted to photograph them against our signature linen backdrop for a soft, yet refined look. We will be hosting a launch event in our studio this April to debut the collection. Extremely limited quantities of the tables are available as they are each one-of-a-kind and made from reclaimed lumber from the Tahoe National Forest. We look forward to sharing more about each design!
